- Divine Purpose: Life is seen as a gift from Allah, and humans are created to worship and serve Him. The Quran states, “And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me” (Quran 51:56). This worship is not limited to rituals but encompasses all aspects of life, including ethical behavior and service to humanity1.
- Test and Trial: Life is considered a test from Allah. Muslims believe that their actions in this world will determine their fate in the hereafter. This belief encourages them to live righteously and perform good deeds. The Quran mentions, “He who created death and life to test you as to which of you is best in deed” (Quran 67:2)2.
- Service to Humanity: Islam emphasizes the importance of helping others and contributing positively to society. Acts of charity, kindness, and justice are highly valued. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The best of people are those who are most beneficial to others”1.
- Spiritual Growth: Life is an opportunity for spiritual growth and self-improvement. Muslims strive to develop qualities such as patience, gratitude, and humility, which are essential for a fulfilling life and a closer relationship with Allah1.
- Preparation for the Hereafter: Muslims view this life as a preparation for the eternal life after death. They believe that by living according to Islamic principles, they can attain success in the hereafter. The Quran describes this life as a temporary abode and the hereafter as the ultimate destination3.
These beliefs collectively underscore the importance of life in Islam, guiding Muslims to live purposefully and ethically.
