1. Background and Early Life:
   • Prophet Ya’qub (AS) was a descendant of the great Prophet Ibrahim (AS). Allah chose him and his sons to be leaders who would guide people toward goodness and right guidance.
   • His father was Prophet Ishaq (Isaac), and he had a twin brother named Ishaq. However, Ya’qub was loved more by their father, which led to envy and tension between the brothers.
2. The Dream and Fleeing:
   • Feeling threatened by his brother’s envy, Ya’qub decided to flee. He found a place to rest, where he dreamt of a ladder connecting Earth to Heaven. Angels descended and informed him that his future generations would come from this land.
   • Happy with this divine promise, Ya’qub vowed to build a mosque and donate part of his property if he returned to his family. He anointed a stone with oil to recognize it later.
3. Marriage and Sons:
   • Ya’qub married two sisters: Leah (his first wife) and Rachel (Leah’s younger sister).
   • With Leah, he had several sons, including Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Zebulun, and others.
   • His youngest wife bore two sons: Joseph (Yusuf) and Benjamin (Benyamin).
4. Reconciliation with His Brother:
   • After years of separation, Ya’qub decided to return home. The angels greeted him, and Allah announced that his name would be Israel.
   • His brother, who had once threatened him, now humbled himself after receiving a gift from Ya’qub. They reconciled, and both went to their father’s place (where Prophet Ibrahim used to live).
5. Legacy and Fulfilling the Promise:
   • At 180 years old, their father passed away and was buried near their grandfather, Prophet Ibrahim.
   • Ya’qub fulfilled his promise by building a mosque in Jerusalem, placing oil on the stone he had anointed earlier. Prophet Solomon later expanded this mosque.
   • Ya’qub had a total of twelve sons in all.
6. Joseph (Yusuf) and Egypt:
   • Prophet Yusuf (Joseph), one of Ya’qub’s sons, requested that the entire family move to Egypt.
